After graduating from Stetson University with a business and marketing degree, Roger Van Alst managed several companies in both the United States and Australia for many years before building Black Diamond. Roger is Advanced Certified by the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) and has served on the board of directors for the Western Chapter for over 8 years. As consumers, the Van Alsts had both positive and negative experiences working with home improvement contractors. This led Roger to devise his business model by pulling together the best techniques and ideas he’d encountered from his past experience while disposing of those that stood in the way of a positive customer experience. Since 2004, Black Diamond has grown from a small mom-and-pop operation to where we are today. Roger has used this model to ensure a positive professional experience with every client – resulting in an A+ rating with the BBB and thousands of positive reviews across Yelp, Angie’s List, Houzz, Facebook and Google.
